  • This is all assuming it’s a spinning disk and not an SSD, so ignore me if that’s the case:

Given SAS drives are usually used in data centre storage array applications and 3TB disks have been kinda small for that use case for a fair while, there’s a fairly high chance it was in heavy use for a good number of years. I’d bet it’s probably well on its way to being a paperweight regardless of your connectivity situation.

If you do get it hooked up, don’t store anything on it you wouldn’t be okay losing.

  • Emphatically disagree with you on image quality, the cameras are pretty much the only thing that are still noticeably improving between phone generations for me. This improvement is seen by proper photography review companies like DxO too.

Digital zoom is still shit today, but it was so much worse back then. We now at least have AI supersampling doing something slightly better.

The photos you’re looking at must be either cherry picked, perfect conditions, day time photography, or you just don’t know what to look for when comparing image quality.

The easiest comparisons to see the difference will be low-light night time photography, and photos with high dynamic range, such as shooting through a bright window from inside a dark room, etc.

This is all without pointing out that video image quality (using those same cameras) has improved even more noticeably since the phones you’re talking about. And with people increasingly caring about shooting video, this also explains why.

  • Yeah, you’re right to highlight warcraft although I don’t think it’s a clean line with Warcraft between dune 2 and c&c. C&C was probably around 2 years into development by the time Warcraft came out, and my assumption is most of the actual game design was pretty finalised by that point. Though I’m sure some minor influences made their way in, I don’t think Warcraft massively affected the kind of game we got in the end.

But yeah that’s not to diminish the contribution of warcraft to the genre, there’s loads of games that followed copying the Warcraft style of RTS, even as part of the c&c series in the end with Generals.

OP you had one job. It’s NZB as per your link, not NBZ

And in answer to your question, it’s like a torrent file but for Usenet. You will need a news-server subscription to download the content they describe and you’ll generally need an indexer (similar to a torrent tracker) to find them. Most of the good indexers also charge a fee
