Nintendo doesn’t have a legal right to go after NES clones in the States because the patent on the NES expired and anyone is legally allowed to make perfect duplicates of NES hardware.
The only legal ground Nintendo has is software copyright for games they published and / or licensed ( probably just published )
Eventually decentralized services with anonymity will be killed by the EU, they already want to stop all text encryption, the way anyone can stand up a server and run it however it’s already in conflict with the GDPR.

European Union regulation will probably threaten the very principles that the Fediverse functions on, potentially making Lemmy illegal anywhere in the EU because it’s not auditable enough, or doesn’t meet data retention or some kind of consumer privacy law.

I’m upset that they’ve made this decision to be honest. It means the physical release is incomplete and this is bad for have preservation, so I have the opposite feelings.
There is essentially no way to enforce, or even monitor this, like it’s fundamentally impossible without controlling everything from stl creation, to weapon construction.
Sega / Atlus indicated they would not do a full retail release of the game and extra content, breaking with decades long tradition.
TVs have a UHF switch so I can finally watch more channels. I really hate putting tinfoil on the rabbit ears and opening the window to sometimes get these new channels though, but they work better if I hold onto the antenna. It’s hard to see what I’m watching if I do this, but at least I can mostly hear what they’re saying, and the picture is dark anyway, so even if I could see at this angle, it would be too dark and snowy.

These are both amazing games that were originally Wii releases. This is wonderful news.
I miss it. I came over right after Digg died, almost half a decade before 2010. Thought it was the ugliest site I had ever seen and found it super confusing.
People did largely speak their minds though, lots of controversial posts and uncensored humor, yeah it was nice, but the change in Reddit really mirrors general cultural changes too, it was more driven by Gen X and older millennials, more tech driven, and more what people would call edgy.
It was the wild west not so much because Reddit specifically was, but because that’s what broad tech bro Internet culture was. We also had relatively unmoderated Xbox Live and online gaming and other things that are hard to explain to folks now.
What we would call social media existed, Digg called it Social Bookmarking for a Digg / Reddit / Slashdot model. Myspace was just giving away to Facebook, Twitter was getting off the ground, and chat rooms, like Yahoo chatrooms and Geocities were so unhinged back then.
2005 is around the time that Yahoo started looking major ground to Google when just a few years prior it was the undisputed default search engine.
Neat to think about all this again.
