  • Been looking for this my self an app ideally tried neobackup and DataBackup on F-Droid on Android TV OS 12 no joy, it backs up something just the apk I think and some other useless part. But not the entirety of apps and games for both the apk and app data portion trying to restore fails as well with the apk launch, so I am stuck in this same boat my self.

You might want to try those on a phone if that’s what you have it requires root though.

But I scoured the net in search of an app for a whole day as well but had no finds for doing a backup that worked for TV OS of any kind, so I’m not sure what to do short of finding a dev and begging them to generate a nandroid backup-able TWRP .img file and flashing it problem is flashing it likely wipes the lot before using it, and it needs to be a specific .img for this specific TV box and for specific other devices, this is just so I can backup the games and apps incase the HDD dies ever, as there is no longer a way to backup and restore them on higher than Android 9 I think it is?

What a joke though, it’s becoming pointless on purpose. Probably to stop people going for none proprietary devices/products to play the games and apps with like the new bag of sh@t Google are releasing some TV box that mine makes look like dog sh@t any way and mine is 2yrs old already a Mekotronics R58.

This is a growing problem that hardware manufacturers of the boxes should be fixing with their own backup tool to backup per app apk+data and as a .img file style backup in one tool but they cannot be bothered, in fact many are making devices abandonware too quickly to care about letting people do the fundamental necessities the boxes and phones should have like backing up.

sadly I doubt that works on Android 12 due to limitations.

To help protect private app data, Android 12 changes the default behavior of the adb backup command. For apps that target Android 12 (API level 31) or higher, when a user runs the adb backup command, app data is excluded from any other system data that is exported from the device.

This does sound very promising though not tried yet?

    UPDATE PROBLEM SOLVED

It works Swift Backup is working for Android TV OS 12 apps and data with root apparently it can work without root over adb using Shizuku, I have successfully restored Huntdown game with data on a secondary hard drive from an adooted storage hard drive based device, you can choose individual or batch app backup to internal and external also it allows media backup not sure whether it means videos and music only or everything else on internal storage or the media which is inside apps in some respect like some photo editing and video editing apps possibly?

Cons it is free up to 10x backing up of an app but does habe premium version to allow infinite backup

  • On AOSP they aren’t tracked it’s a De-Googled OS it has no Google Service Framework or Google related apps to track you, you’d use the F-Droid marketplace for none tracking apps to install on it if needed.

Expense I can understand, but something of a natively compatible format for installing the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) sounds fine to use as a kind of capable dumb phone if you like and by capable I meam it can be used as both a smart phone or dumb phone with the use of a launcher being installed for the dumbing down, say some text based or other simplistic launcher available via F-Droid.

Cost is not to viscious for Android phones of just ok spec like an old mid range octa core running Android 11 or Android 12 with say 64gb storage to 128gb storage but 32gb is fine even less really but you begin dropojng soc performance fast going to 32gb storage devices really but in those 64-128gb eras of hardware ranges are pretty cheap now for second hand ones with warranties sometimes to. AOSP is lighter on resources trick also is enable developer options and turn off

    1. Window Animation Scale

    2. Transition Animation Scale

    3. Animator Duration Scale

This makes a device fly scrolling and opening and tapping things to open them because the you aren’t waiting for transitions to take place for the UI that often has a momentary pause or animated effect to look cool but this might look cool but it slows the waiting time to ooem things right down, I always disable that on all phones or other Android devices that run Android on initial setup.

Or if you want true dumb phones a 4g doro lol

For iphone’s I just found this it’s pretty interesting turning it into a light phone by a launcher.

  • There is an OS for dumbphones of certain types that makes them smart phoens to an extent a browser and facebook etc on tbem skyoe is on some dumber phoens to already, You can do the opposite with certain launchers as well convert a smartphonex o dumbphone eg. the oddly named Baldphone on F-Droid for elderly peolle needing bigger buttons andxless modern sh@t I mean bloatware sorry lol it also adds an ease of opening the dialpad oviously in bold digits and other simplicities.

Baldphone remember to oot out of extra tracking it has anti-features

BaldPhone (Replace your phone’s interface with a big, simple and friendly one) https://f-droid.org/packages/com.bald.uriah.baldphone/

Other alternative maybe YAM Launcher or similar apps.

YAM Launcher (YAM Launcher is a minimalist text-based launcher for Android with weather!) https://f-droid.org/packages/eu.ottop.yamlauncher/

Nothing dumber looking than text for your items and apps installed

Here Techcrunch come up with ideas on dumbing smartphones down in this article

    https://www.techlockdown.com/guides/dumb-phone-android

With launchers you don’t struggle to buy a dumbphone with 4g and 5g signals for the sim you dumb a modern phone down you could also strip the apps off if you root it or maybe just get Android AOSP on it and use a simple launcher for it then a text based one.

  • Yeah it was pretty realistic in some parts and B grade garbage in others but the movie overall was amazing it was the suspense and the invisible attacks and the acting chops that made that movie it scores 8.1 out of 10 all the other Jaws movies are steaming piles of doo doo though in comparisson, and the higher the number the movie the more ridiculously infantile and deranged the premise/plot gets lol to a point of the shark is now telepathically linked to the victims family it’s seeking revenge on the familycand it’s following them all the way from America to Jamaica to chomp someone up who just haplens to be the son of the voctims mum WTF? lmfao.

I could see one chasing you or circling you in real life especially if you whacked it over the head with something like an awe and it didn’t kill it, but telepathic sharks with a axe to grind? That’s when it starts to take the p@ss one drip too far haha.

But don’t let that disuade anyone in any way from watching them all, they can be dark and good in certain parts, they all have character of the era they were made that by today’s movie production standards makes everything today just look compketely dull/generic/plain and regurgitative un-charismatic cr@p

  • Jaws at about 5 yrs old and Robocop a couple of years later at about 7yrs old the uncut version loved them both except jaws made me phobic of the ocean and open water so paid a price with that one lol although I have all 4 movies on dvd watch them from time to time. Have both Robocop original and the newer one which is sh@t comparitively, no surprise being just a 12A no swearing and or adult humour no guys exploading on windscreens from being melted down with toxic waste then hit by a car lol and no fist spike weapon either. It will never hold a candle to the original movie which is a true product of the 80s and a must own movie, one rad movie.

I still can’t believe Jaws was classified just PG and still is that’s to savage for kids really not all of it the shark looks awful corny and cheap tat but the scenes you don’t see it and the man in the pond where you see it sideways it looks real then it bites his leg off and you see the leg sinking those scenes aren’t fit for kids no way. .
