The only times I’m worried about a fight is if I’m somewhere and someone with a mental illness might start something. Like the other day on the train someone was yelling very loudly to the car in general and being aggressive to people.
I wanted to do anything but fight, but I was mentally prepping in case I had to protect my step daughter. I was so relieved when he eventually went to a different car. I was even thinking of getting off and waiting for the next train.

That said, I moved from southern California to Illinois recently. We went from 50-60 cents/kwh to something like 5 cents/kwh. I use a lot to power my servers, fans, and AC and don’t fret if my bill hits $200 a month.
The concert? I dunno it’s pretty close. But the company to go to the show with, that I’ll fly across the country for.
When I was living in California, I had a friend text me he had an extra ticket to a Bad Religion concert in Chicago. So I booked a flight and went to see the show with him. Flight was a few hundred bucks, the “free” ticket was worth like $35.
Honestly, it was totally worth it. One of the best concerts I’ve been to, probably because of who I got to see it with.
Yea. All the self emptying docks make them really tall, but I’d love it if the bin was on the side and pulled out forward.

Mine is alright, it doesn’t mao the room but kind of finds the perimeter and start to just do lines back and forth. It’s nice to vacuum when I leave the house.
It’s loud, but at least it’s doing something if only evidenced by how much I empty the damn thing. Every couple months I have to take it and the dock out to the garage to blow it all out with their air compressor.
I do think it makes me keep shit off the floor more. It wants to eat cords a lot. I want a second one with mapping so I can have it do specific rooms and this one can get sent to the basement where it doesn’t need to be as fancy.
I really hate the space it takes up, I would love one that was shorter so it could be stored underneath the side tables, or the dock and empty bin were flatter so it could be under the couch or something.
Lifetime? Dozens. Hell, I get so many free ones as swag at places it’s ridiculous.
I only really wear my one pair though. It’s got prescription lenses, so I did kind of splurge on that pair for something nice and would go with everything.
I really like unique or kinda of wild styles though, things that make a statement. So I’d like to be able to wear, afford, and store more. Even as a man, I think accessories round out an outfit and make it look complete. Like a nice watch, the appropriate shoes, jacket, and hat.

Oh believe me, I know. I’ve printed out hundreds of pages to put in a binder when I did my transaxle rebuild.
My trick is buying the paper with the 3 holes already punched. But almost any print shop should be able to print and bind it for you as well.
I’ve kind of used it, but I’ve found a lot of service manuals for my cars on enthusiast forums.

I remember having an old boardgame with a VHS. It has a countdown and would interrupt you every so often with events or punishments.
It was fun, but after the first time you play it you’d know every “surprise” coming on the tape.
I love the Parker Jotter. It’s a classic and looks so sleek.
I haven’t looked at the RV apps. But I’ve used TruckerPath with great success before. It’s designed for OTR truckers and might have more than you need or be confusing. But it can set height restrictions and give you a lot of info on truck stops that if they can accommodate an 18 wheeler, they can accommodate you.
I tinker mostly during the holidays. Show control is kind of a hobby. As are haunted houses.
Otherwise, everything just works at this point. I just have a few useful automation like turning all lights off with a button press, some lights that turn on at sunset and off at sunrise, and back door lights that turn on when the garage opens and it’s after sunset.
Otherwise everything still works as a switch, well button now, without Internet or my hub. I never need to explain to someone that comes in how to use anything.
I have some shit broken, like my automation that sent one of the robot vacuums out when I leave the house doesn’t work now that I’ve tried making sure it doesn’t go if my girlfriend is still home. But low priority. The shit I care about just works. The rest is when I get to it, eventually.
I hate battery items, and when I can I like wired. But retrofitting a 70 year old home with all that won’t be easy or cheap. I’ve already had to redo all my outlets and run new wires.

But I am an IT director. So I know my way around networking, programming, and system/server admin. I can segment, design, and secure the networking between the devices and run whatever systems I need for automation. I’ve run Ethernet throughout the house and am not afraid of cutting holes.
I’m trying to tie in some professional systems like Dante audio instead of smart speakers. Even though that means I’ll probably need a dedicated audio server.
And I’m tying in a lot of legacy protocols too. Like artnet and DMX for a lot of the show control systems I have. It’s really great being able to use so much dissimilar stuff and be able to control it from a single dashboard.
I can also automate temporary things like holiday lights or my big Halloween displays. I end up wiring most of my cars lights to DMX controlled relays and dimmers. Add fog machines and audio cues that I can sync up together.
But I do know that I’m a nerdy edge case here.
I’m sure if I put a high density battery in my old eee PC, it could probably run for days.
I really hate that we’ve gotten such energy intensive applications. And honestly, I don’t think for a lot of them they have gotten much faster. They are bloated and programmers have been allowed to do that since every machine has so much extra resources now.
Yea. This is my big thing. Probably good on well traveled and maintained highways. Mostly good on city streets. It’s gonna be dog shit on a rural road.
I’m also curious how they would handle snow or other inclement weather that obstructs lane lines completely.
Hell, I still have the CD installer. And I think the soundtrack CD.
I did enjoy the puzzle houses people would make though.
