  • season 2 is unwatchable, didn’t make it past halfway of the first episode. total loss. i was very up on the first season, which i found draggy, right up until the sprint across all of middle earth, to a battle, to the mountain exploding into a volcano in the span of 10 minutes (HotD pulled this same bullshit with a 5 minute montage in the finale which had more movement of forces than the entire rest of the shortened 8 episode season). that sprint. fight, mordor, bit ruined what was already teetering on a bad experienced. found myself about 30 minutes into the first episode of the second season thinking, this is all shit, the acting, the writting, the direction, all of this is just straight garbage, i don’t like any of this, it’s pretty, but that’s all that it has going for it, i guess i fixated on the stupid acorns still green in the proto hobbit’s hair in the desert, and the rock try sprouting bugs, that did it for me, i was like, nope, i’m noping the fuck out of this bullshit right fucking now, nope nope nope, i’m done

  • This whole season could’ve been boiled down to Rooks Rest and the Dragonseeds, and that’s it. Daemon’s Harenhal Acid Trip was B story filler.

85% of this entire second season was filler. Rooks Rest was the dragon fight we’ve been waiting for, but everything else was taking advantage of a captive audience, fluffing out 8 episodes, while teasing a season 3, which I wouldn’t bet isn’t also going to be filler teasing out a season 4.

This is all so cynical and upsetting. They ruined Daemon and turned Ryhaneara into a pussycat.

This season sucked overall, and the finale, with a 5 minute montage of more action and movement than the entire rest of the season, was a thumb in the eye.

  • I know I’m not the target audience for this, I’ve never been a “comic book guy”, I’ve enjoyed most of the Phase 1 thru 3 movies, though the faceless armies of CGI that showed up as the big boss battle at the end of every single one did wear thing. Everything after phase 3 hasn’t been worth watching. Ryan Reynolds Deadpool seem to be a fan favorite, to me, it’s always seemed like embarrasing over the top camp, with no real purpose. Started watching Deadpool & Wolverine, and it was just so much more of the same, with two unkillable beings slashing at each other in between cursing for the sake of shock, I didn’t make it more than 20 minutes before I had enough and shut it off. I sincerely don’t get it. Would I have liked this when I was 12? I’m at a complete loss here.

  • Sailed the high seas earlier, and found this had been “released”, watched it expecting the worst, and I’ve gotta tell ya, it’s the best Western I’ve seen in quite a long time. I was a fan of Dances With Wolves, not so much for Waterworld, or The Postman, which were all pretty much the same movie. Not sure if I’d like Kevin Costner as a person if I were to meet him, but Horizon 1 was EXCELLENT. It’s epic, beautiful, none of it was overwrought, none of it was boring, three competing narratives which seem to be zippering together. I really really enjoyed all 3 hours of this, and really can’t wait for more. I would watch all 4 of these, hope he actually gets to make the last two.
