one is definitely better. I’ll concede there are extremely niche usually compatability related use cases for light mode, but if there’s a default, it should absolutely be dark.
just turn screen brightness up, and since you’re only lighting up the parts that are words, you’re still probably using less battery.
also, generally, you want your data going as few places as possible. not to beijing, not to washington, not to palo alto.
