Elijah Mitchell is not on the 49ers 53-man-roster.

Mitchell sustained another hamstring injury in practice Monday and has been placed on injured reserve for the season.

Elijah has been a solid runner for the Niners when he is on the field, but injuries have severely limited his playing time.

It is an opportunity for Jordan Mason and Isaac Guerendo. Mason is the best version of himself we have seen yet. Guerendo was selected in the 4th round of this year’s draft and had some highlights in preseason. Patrick Taylor Jr. is also vying to carry the rock for the 49ers.

All this assumes McCaffrey will share.
